Some affiliate programmes cut an E-cheque, others do direct deposit to your bank account. Regardless you'll get paid if you send people to the affiliate site via your click-through and they buy. Some sites pay you once a month, some once a quarter, some only once every 6 months. It all depends upon the requirements of each affiliate network.

How can I tell how many visitor clicks my site is generating?
Once you have your site up and running and you're getting unique visitors (people who actually view your site, not just a robot pilfering email addresses) you'll start noticing visitors who are interested in your advertised products clicking through to your affiliates.
Generally, the affiliate programme tracks every event and rewards you with commission for every programme, this can be viewed at any time. When you sign up for the affiliate programme, you'll be provided with a userid and password. You'll use these later to view the statistics and see information on your Account and your Referrals over any time period.
